Superabrasive Turning Center Ideal for Grooving Sprockets and more

Milldale, CT - June 23, 2008 -- MAX-TEKŪ, LLC has introduced the MAX-TEK STC-300 Superabrasive Turning Center, featuring a cam type auto-loader, which makes it an excellent platform for high volume automotive powdered metal applications such as grooving drive sprockets and slotting synchronous rings. It is also ideal for heavy material removal applications, particularly from barstock. The machine's high-tensile-strength Meehanite base provides superior rigidity and vibration damping needed for accurate, high speed abrasive machining. Ergonomic design assures that the grinding wheel is easily accessible enabling safe, simple wheel changes. The linear guide ways have no contact with grinding swarf, which drops to the bottom of the machine for transfer to the sump.

  • Grinding Wheels: Up to 14.0" Diameter

The work spindle features a 15 HP motor and up to 3,500 RPM and is capable of heavy material removal as well as superfine finishing operations. Linear positioning is +/- .0001"/12 inches and linear repeatability is +/- .00005". A Fanuc based CNC system is standard.
