10/28/2008
Milldale, CT - October 31, 2008 -- MAX-TEKŪ, LLC is mentioned on Modern Machine Shop Online in a case study article titled "Replacing Turning with Grinding" and will be in print soon. The MAX-TEK STC-400 Superabrasive Turning Center utilizing plated CBN wheels (from WENDT Dunnington) has had very impressive results. Conventional lathes were replaced with the STC-400 to make dramatic cycle time reductions that also resulted in a cleaner working environment. In the article the customer states, "parts that might once have taken as long as 7 or 8 hours to turn can be ground in 25 minutes," and "the machining process is now so fast that it is difficult for the plant to keep this new machine busy."
